What the Blog!?

This blog is about biases in the distribution of prime numbers. In particular, if not primarily, it is about one such phenomenon discovered by yours truly in early February 2018.

While I am a theoretical physicist and astronomer by training, I have also always liked mathematics. I have been dabbling in pure mathematics (especially number theory) for the last few years, starting in early 2015.

The most important result of my studies in this area so far is this bias in the distribution of prime numbers. The bias is described in detail in my paper, "Statistical Bias in the Distribution of Prime Pairs and Isolated Primes."

The blog first post serves as an introduction of sorts to the history of the bias discovery via some links to older documents

As an independent researcher, I don't have the same opportunities to promote my work as those affiliated with academic institutions even if my work may actually be of some importance. I believe, it is the case for this paper and the phenomenon it describes. This blog, I hope, will help to spread the word about it. I promise not to sound like a marketer, although at times, considering that this blog is meant to promote my work, this may be hard to avoid.

Blogging is really for everyone and many professional researchers engage in it as well, knowing full well that it is one of the best ways for their work to truly reach the masses. I may eventually link from this blog to some of my favorite mathematics blogs.
